If you've got problem woodchucks in Massachusetts
Woodchucks are very common throughout Massachusetts. They are herbivores and eat only vegetation. Woodchucks are burrowing rodents that hibernate during the colder months of the year. Female woodchucks give birth in late spring to 2-4 young. The male has no part in raising the young. In July the female woodchuck drives her young from the den, forcing them to disperse to new areas. If woodchucks are causing damage to gardens or compromising the structural integrity of buildings then the problem animals may be removed. Many times woodchucks can be excluded from an area to prevent future damage or conflict.
